We are Grow

We are a strong team of diverse and internationally experienced designers and technicians, and we approach our work as a team. All members contribute to all projects which we believe engenders value through our creative, yet thorough and pragmatic approach.

We are an architectural practice registered with the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists, and currently have two projects shortlisted for awards, most notably the Chartered Institute’s Alan King Award 2016 which recognises excellence in architectural technology.

We have a strong client base ranging from national house builders, social housing providers and commercial developers, as well as local authorities, schools and private developers.

We work within multiple sectors, most prominently within the residential and commercial sectors having completed a number of successful projects. More recently we have accepted instructions for larger mixed use master planning projects, a bespoke transportable building, and an innovative gardening product.The practice abides by the code of conduct set out by CIAT. We structure our projects in accordance with the RIBA plan of work, and continually invest in staff professional development to ensure industry compliance in all areas.We use the latest 3D computer-aided architectural and graphic design software to enable us to produce Concept Design visualisations, Developed Designs and Technical Design packages efficiently.

Meet the Team

Adam Jackson DIP HI, CERT HE (ARCH)
Managing Director / Senior Architectural Technologist

Adam grew up in Essex and over the past two decades he has dedicated his studies to construction and architecture. Over the years, Adam has worked for two architectural practices and a local authority, gaining experience in all work stages over a wide range of sectors; residential developments, commercial buildings, heritage sites and listed building conversions and coastal masterplans.

In 2014, Adam designed and oversaw a new disabled changing facility for a local authority, this project won a commended award in the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists Alan King Award. It was the turning point in Adam’s career which led him to set up GROW Design Studio, with the intention of providing functional and well considered architecture. Since then, GROW has established into an award winning practice in their own right; in 2016 winning the commended award in CIAT’s Alan King Award, this time for a modest property marketing suite for a 14 home development in rural Hertfordshire.


 

Steve Barron HNC
Architectural Technologist

Steve joined Grow in 2022 having gained extensive experience working in architectural practices in Essex and London. His experience is varied and includes a wide range of projects which he has successfully carried through most of the RIBA stages. With a background primarily in technical design Steve hopes to use his skills to take projects from concept through to completion. Having worked closely with clients on both new build and existing projects he has a good understanding of the balance between form and functionality.

Outside of work Steve has an array of hobbies including kayaking, running, cycling and painting. He also enjoys spending time with his young family.


 

David Eaton MCIAT
MCIAT Senior Architectural Technologist

David is a Chartered Architectural Technologist with over 30 years experience within the construction industry, working on a wide range of private and public sector developments including conservation, education and residential. Having started his career in Cornwall, David spent a number of years in London working for an award-winning architectural practice and historic buildings consultancy before returning to his native Essex. David joined Grow in 2022 following 8 years at an architectural practice in Chelmsford where he was technical team leader for numerous residential developments across the South East.

Away from work, if the weather allows, you will find him enjoying his latest pastime of lawn bowls although he keeps having to remind us that he’s not that old!


 

Katie Foley BA (Hons)
Office Manager / HR Advisor

Katie is the Office Manager / HR Advisor at GROW. Her responsibilities encompass many aspects of the business, including acting as a first point of contact for clients visiting or contacting the office, billing, invoicing, customer service and professionalism. Working alongside the team, her assertive organisational skills keep the business running smoothly.
Prior to joining GROW, Katie graduated from Southampton Solent University with a degree in Business Management and Marketing.


Anastasia Jackson BSc (Hons)
Director/New Business Development Manager

Ana is the New Business Development Manager at GROW. Bringing years of office and HR experience, her knowledge and professionalism is invaluable to the business. Ana’s primary focus is to interact with prospective clients and build awareness about GROW’s capabilities whilst also maintaining relationships with current and past clients.
