Engineers are essential to most building projects. Engineers provide the structural and engineering designs and calculations to enable a project to develop past a conceptual proposal, and into a tangible project.
As members of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) we demonstrate good levels of knowledge in building componentry, materiality and structural geometry. We understand when support is needed and when a proposal might, or might not work. It is this skill-set that affords us the ability to push forward through a project without the immediate requirement to validate our schemes by employing an engineer.
When needed we draw upon a network of consulting engineers who we use as close consultees. We work with highways engineers, structural engineers, services engineers and building modelling / thermal dynamic engineers.
